Getting
married at St Bartholomew's:
The heritage sandstone church of St Bartholomew’s is a sought-after venue for weddings. The interior of the church, with its traditional furnishings and magnificent stained glass windows, generates a feeling of sacredness which is so appropriate to a Christian marriage ceremony.
Weddings
are conducted all year round, with the seasons of highest demand
being early Autumn and Spring. Only two weddings can be conducted on
any one day.
Couples wishing to enquire about being married in St Bartholomew’s should contact the office as soon as they have chosen a wedding date.
Couples living beyond the local area need to be aware that they will be required to meet with the officiating Priest on one occasion at least 3 months before the wedding day.
Baptisms:
Baptism marks the beginning of a lifelong relationship between an individual, Jesus Christ and the Church. Baptism reflects the decision a person has made for themselves, or their child, to live according to God’s way, and to turn away from the actions and attitudes which offend God (sins) and which separate us from Him.
The baptism service is a ceremony which expresses in words and symbolism the commencement of a person’s journey as a Christian.
Enquiries about being baptized at Alstonville or Tregeagle can be made to the office.
